Our white roof mounted overhang reversing camera, fitted with a top spec 1/3" Sony CCD 700TVL image sensor. Adjustable ball camera. Optional stainless steel extension plate available for vans with thick doors.
We find the roof mounted overhang reversing cameras (aka shark fin cameras) are ideal for people who wish to put a camera on the roof for a birds eye view looking down to the bumper area.
This type of reverse camera was developed when vans seemingly decided overnight to scrap the space that used to be common above the rear doors. See the photo below that was sent in by one of our earliest customers for this type of camera, his vehicle was a Mark 7 Transit Van. *Please note that the photo shows our black version, if you order using this listing you will receive the white version.
You will have to double-check the thickness of your doors (on a few vans they can be very thick). We do stock a stainless steel extension plate should you find you need to extend the reach of the camera. This can be added by clicking on the option above.
The reversing camera is fitted with night vision IR LED's. The quality of the sensor, plus the Infra Red light (only visible to the camera), means this camera has good night time performance.
This camera has a CCD sensor (CCD is very good for dynamic range and low light levels). It is the 1/3" type (outperforms the smaller/cheaper 1/4" more commonly found). The sensor is made by Sony, their respected 811 CCD sensor. Check out our rating below compared to other standard definition image sensors.
A wide 120 degree viewing angle, means you can see all the obstacles around the back of your vehicle whilst reversing.
This camera comes with a 4 pin connector. If you plan to mount this to a stereo head unit eg Pioneer/Kenwood/Sony then you will need one of our 4 pin to RCA/Phono adaptors. An RCA Phono conversion adaptor set can be added at a discounted price by selecting the check box on the listing next to the add to basket button. The set includes an adaptor to go from the 4 pin connector on the camera, to a yellow Phono RCA plug, a DC power socket, a DC power plug to red (+12V) and black (earth) wires, and a RCA Phono coupler (should you require an RCA socket instead of a plug).

Mainland UK Shipping
We have three postage options to select from during checkout (on larger items eg kits there will be two options):
Royal Mail Tracked - Smaller / Lighter weight orders. This will be sent via Royal Mails Tracked Service. They will send emails/SMS to inform you of the tracking events. This option won't be shown for heavier weight orders.
DPD 2 Day. Small or large orders. This will be sent with DPD Local and should arrive within two working days (if you place the order before 12:30PM).
DPD Next Day. Small or large orders. This will be sent with DPD Local and should arrive the following working day (if you place the order before 12:30PM).
Highlands and Islands UK Shipping
We offer a 2-3 day service fulfilled with either Royal Mail Post, or Parcel Force. The prices charged are identical to mainland UK. Small orders will be sent via the post, larger orders via Parcel Force.
Outside of the UK Shipping
We shop around when selecting the best method for Europe (we avoid the cheap budget couriers due to parcels being lost). Southern Ireland is always sent via DPD. Other countries will usually be either Parcel Force, UPS, or Fedex. Please note that we require a phone number for international deliveries. Also if you are a company in Europe, a VAT number or EORI number will help speed up customs.
We remove the UK VAT (Tax) when any country other than the UK is selected in the shopping basket or checkout. From this point all prices on the site drop down to exclude VAT. If you are from the Channel Islands, please select Jersey / Guernsey from the country list in order to remove UK sales Tax.
60 day "Change of Mind" policy
We understand that for whatever reason you may need to return your purchase. We provide a 60 day opportunity for you to do just that. Simply give us an email or a phone call to let us know it is due back. You are responsible for the shipping back to us but you will receive a full refund including the original shipping we charged you for your order. We recommend getting a signed for or proof of postage when posting back to us.
All we ask is that you return the items in the condition they were sent in, with the packaging present. You are welcome to have temporarily tested the product and unravelled things, but if you have cut wires, soldered, glued, installed and used for a while then this wouldn't be suitable for returns under the change of mind policy.
